iso / VIDEO_TS support

Post by riffraff2 »

Hello,

I know that the dvd format is not supported on the first release and maybe will be not supported ever for two reasons (correct me if I'm wrong) : dvd is an old format and Apple will not authorize libdvdcss .

I have a lot of DVD on iso format (not encrypted and no region code). Why stuck on this old format ? Because some videos aren't available on HD format. An old TV show of AC/DC from 1978 does not exist in HD, for example. So I don't need to have them on mkv. And with the mkv format i will lose the menu which can be very usefull on some ISOs.

And I 'm sure I'm not the only one in that case, I hope ;).

Why not consider add DVD/ISO support of uncrypted dvd ?

Thanks for reading

libdvdcss as far as I know is only for decryption of a physical disc (which the Apple TV wouldn't be able to use)

as far as supporting decrypted ISOs, I sure hope that makes it into a release

I have a feeling that it may not though since I'm pretty sure DVD playback requires a license...

This is all speculation of course... I do hope at least MPEG2 MKV files are supported though...
