Version: MrMC 3.9-10 Git 2020-11-02-719a6ae
TV: Samsung KU6409 123 cm (49 Inch)
Device: Amazon FireStick 4K
Debug Log: 76IJC.log
I installed MrMC a couple of hours ago because I wanted to try it out as a replacement for Kodi and the Plex for Kodi addon and I read that MrMC has a plex integration built into itself which sounded interesting.
And while all of that works flawlessly, the video I tried to play was too large for my TV and parts of it was cut off.
The video is correctly being displayed on the Default plex app and in Plex for Kodi but neither in the MrMC App or the Plex Addon in MrMC Example. As you can see in the images, the first one has the overlay cut off in all corners.
I first searched around about this issue but all I could find were posts from 2016 to 2019. Some talking about that the "resolution switching" was something that fixed it but the stated location (Settings -> Playback) doesn't show this in my version and I also can't find any mention of this being removed or changed textually or being moved somewhere else.
While searching for this setting I found the "Video Calibration" which I did run but it only affected the UI itself and not the video position.
So, I don't know what else I could check or try out because nothing I have done so far changed something.
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again

Re: Video Calibration done but Video still has overscan
After more than 2 months without a reply, I almost gave up on using MrMC as my new player.
But then I gave it another shot and solved the issue. How? Well, pretty easy actually.
My Samsung TV has a setting called "fit to screen" which was set to "on". ANY client connected to my TV could handle that but apparently, MrMC can't. I set "fit to screen" to "off" and with that, the video wasn't reaching beyond the edges anymore.
The funny thing I also noticed is that the "video calibration" doesn't actually do any "video calibration" but rather calibrates the user interface (as the tooltip says).
