Hello support,
I want to report having stuttering issues specificaly when watching TV.
I use the tvheadend add-on within MrMC.
When i use the last kodi build on AppleTV4K it runs smooth but with MrMC it only runs smooth for a few minutes and then you see it gaining stuttering. It’s just not smooth anymore.
Just until the point it gets annoying.
How can i help to get this issue fixed?
Now i still need to use Kodi on sideload.
Greetings

Re: TVheadend / TV stuttering
Hello i have uploaded log 82C8F.log
I can also upload a video from the same moment in time with the stuttering clearly visible. I can also see the same stuttering in Kodi when i switch over to using Kodi at the same moment.
The only thing i see is when this happens the cpu percentage visible in MrMC is around 295% and memory 75% used with only MrMC running. When i reboot AppleTV the usage is reduced to +/-6% and after starting MrMC or Kodi CPU around 200% and memory 19% used so maybe this is related to a memory leak?

Re: TVheadend / TV stuttering
I have the same issues. Have been running MrMc for last 6 months. It happens for me as soon as I start to skip through a recording. Also seems to get progressively worse just by watching it. Video becomes almost unwatchable with so much jitter. Have to stop then restart video and all good again until I have to skip over ads.
Get the same issue if I start to timeshift live tv.
I can watch the same recording via Infuse app on the apple tv and runs perfect, so sometimes I just have to watch recorded tv this way.
I have Kodi setup on a PC and the same content is also perfectly smooth.
I believe the TvHeadend plugin used by MrMc is an older version to the one in Kodi. I suspect the plugin is just unstable and needs to be brought up to date with latest changes. Hoping it gets updated soon.

Hi, ok so i am not the only one.
I think the plugin is fine and does not do any logic in video processing. But thats a guess. The issue is in playback with MrMC/Kodi i think

It’s just a stream , somehow the particular stream is not handled properly by internal player.
I don’t see those issues on my side using tvheadend, are you processing the stream on the tvh server ? How is streaming profile setup?

Re: TVheadend / TV stuttering
My Kodi running on Windows PC works flawlessly, but if you’ve sideloaded Kodi on Apple TV and still seeing the problem does seem like some kind issue with the player. But then Infuse works perfectly. Thinking about this more Infuse is playing recorded content via SMB share whereas MrMC is going via a stream from TvHeadend.Wouter wrote: 06 Sep 2019, 11:10 Hi, ok so i am not the only one.

So, the issue is something to do with the TvHeadend stream and processing into the player. Remove the TvHeadend stream and the player seems to handle video file directly without an issue.

Another observation is that content on some channels seems more stable. There’s one channel where everything recorded behaves like this. Other channels it’s hit and miss.
I’ll do some more investigation over the next day. The difference between channels may relate to being mpeg or h264 content, or perhaps could relate to error rate maybe -difference in reception signal quality even though looks ok watching live or stopping and starting stream.
Will report my findings.

Re: TVheadend / TV stuttering
Hi, i will check if the memory issue could be the problem. But the issue is not visible instantly, can take an hour (or two) to see it.
I have to check on post processing where i can find it but because it takes a long time to see i think it cannot be related.
Profiles attatched. Can i upload the video somewhere? Did you find anything in my debug log?

Re: TVheadend / TV stuttering
For me, it happens as soon as I started to skip forwards or back a few times. If I just watch without skipping it is better although gets worse slowly over time
