Kodi 16 compatibility

Post by amet »

Now that Kodi 16 is released, all MrMC users that rely on MySQL database sharing with Kodi please note that only version 2.0 will be supporting 16.0 Kodi.

one more time for the guys at the back, this only applies to MrMC users that are sharing database with Kodi installations.

Hi.
Thank you for the good work you provide.
Just out of curiosity, any ETA for version 2.0?
I'm waiting for it to install koi 16 on other devices.
Regards.

We are working on it, my best bet would be 3 weeks. Ideally we will wait for kodi 16.1 fixes and make sure that all is running smooth, although that will not hold us up if we are ready with 2.0 release.

Will MrMC 2.0 be a separate app or will my current purchase automatically update? Automatically updating and forcing the MySQL database tables to the newer version would be problematic due to other devices running Kodi 15. I have several Raspberry Pi's running Openelec, and that project seems to be much slower at keeping up with the more rapid Kodi development pace.

It will auto update, you should be able to disable auto updates until you are ready to move to openelec 7

I have seen openelec 7 around, not sure how long before they move over, but our primary focus is staying in line with official kodi releases

Hello,

Great work on the MrMC. I have upgraded to Kodi 16 Jarvis already and understand my MrMC isn't working due to the updated MySQL.
I see you indicated that v2.0 would be ready in approximately 3 weeks back on the 24th of Feb. That would put us around now as a timeframe - are you still on track to deliver v2.0 soon?

Thanks!

Yes, we are workin on it as we speak... 3 weeks was a best guess and it turns out I am not good at guessing... 2 weeks more I think, we have one major hurdle to overcome before release.

I updated to Kodi 16 without realising it would nix my library. Running a sideloaded Kodi now until the release of MrMc 2... God speed guys :)
