dvblink stalled

Post by emistral »

hi there,

I have an hd connect tuner and a dvblink server installed on a qnap nas. I have installed mr mc on my apple tv 4 as well as the pvr dvblink plug in.
after configuring the plug in, data are downloaded from the dvblink server.
all good so far.
the problem is that 9 times out of 10 when i start mr mc, i can see it is trying to load data from the dvblink server but then it stops at 96% and after that I can't do anything. Mr mc wont start. while it is loading the data i can briefly see on the screen a popup message saying something like "waiting for pvr client to be active" something like that.
the dvblink server is definitely working since i can start the dvblink app on its own.
any suggestion?

Debuglog while this is happening might show us why, also try clearing epg as that database sometimes can get corrupted.

Settings-> Tv -> guides -> clear data

That's possible only if I can start Mr Mc and 9 times out of 10 I can't. I don't even know why sometimes I can start it !

Actually I have just started Mr Mc on my apple tv 4 right now and this popup message that I was referring too says "no pvr client has been started yet...." Then it freezes. I can't go back via the menu key. The only option is to kill Mr Mc. But upon restarting it, same thing happens.
I can't do anything nor change any settings so it will be tricky to get a log file if this is what you are after.

Hm, it's really odd ... :(

Do you have internal or external database for your videos? Are you using it for videos at all?

Reason I am askin is that one other option would be to remove MrMC and reinstall it... that would delete offending epg database, I suspect issue is in it.

Downside is that you will have to set it up to your liking again as all settings will be lost and if you are not using MySQL database all your videos in a library will need setting up again.

Even if it's hanging, there still might be a chance to get the log if you have had it setup to use webinterface and allowed the port to be open.

what do you mean by internal or external database for my videos? All my videos, music, photos, and dvblink recordings are located on a QNAP NAS. I have configured Mr Mc on the apple tv 4 to access those medias located externally. However I can't remember if I set up Mr Mc to read from the upnp plex server or if I pointed out directly the directory on the NAS.
I already removed Mr Mc in the pst an reinstalled it. It worked the first few times I used it then stalled again. Like I said in my previous post, last night I started Mr Mc again and "no pvr client has been started yet...." popup message appeared on the screen. I believe to remotely access MrMc I would need to type in <apple tv IP address>:8080? if so then I have not enabled it so I guess my only option is to remove it and reinstall it unless I can access it and in that case I could enable remote access
Thanks
