I say F**K all these whiners bitching about the release, obviously they have never configured XBMC/Kodi before. This is not your "Average Joe" Media center, it's designed for Power Users. You need to know what you are doing and takes time to configure. I think it's fantastic and a huge thank you to the developers for all the time and effort put forward, it's a huge deal to have this available in the App store, and it should be priced much higher. There is nothing out there that comes close to MrMC usability and features on this platform.

The entitlement of some people is unreal..

Remote control does need some work, but i do think that otherwise it works great! Playback starts immediately its SMOOTH (No stuttering problems like Infuse), metadata fetching was fast. Keep up the good work.

I can understand that some people are not satisfied with how some things work currently, like the remote, but come on!
The whining and overly negative attitude wont help. Im sure they will improve things with time, it released just now.

wow what a true nerd! designed for "Power User"?
are you a true Android die-hard fan too? why are you even on apple TV? do you know the fact that Apple products are mostly for casual users? most "Power Users" think iphone, ipad, ATv are joke and only "isheep" would use these devices.

seriously, I am done with the old days of spending my time jailbreaking and tweaking xml, remote, etc. I have other important things in life to do than spending weekends tweaking a media player so that it can be used by my kids and wife.

having said that, I spent too much time tweaking Kodi on Nvidia Shield to perfection. well, it is free so I can't complain. I don't want to go through the same things again for apple tv. That is why we are willing to pay for this. we deserve "entitlement" when we pay for it.

Hi,

Regarding skin efforts. Don't make the mistake of changing confluence too much. OSMC has it's own skin and it's rubbish. Confluence is great for what it was designed for. IMHO the only changes you should make is to take out GUI design elements for functionality that is not inplemented in MrMC. Anything else should be optional. People mostly buy/side load it because it's Kodi to a large extend, not because it's another media player.

partly true but Kodi on other platforms allows customization that fit different types of users. MrMC is not as customizable since it is limited by tvOS platform restrictions.

people who love customization and flexibility of Kodi would still prefer other platforms, such as Google TV. Others, who like simplicity and polish but limited features on apple platform, would have ATV. these are two different groups of users. it is not easy to have one size to fit all. with tvOS restrictions, there will be compromises (python is an example).

A user changeable is very well permitted in app store as long as there is no executable code involved. We just decided to limit this initially so to minimize the possibility of initial app store rejection. App store review took less than an hour, so I think we made the correct choice.
