Profile switching?
Other than force quitting the MrMC application how can we choose between profiles? Ideally I'd like to be prompted with a profile selection (I've scripted something to do this in the past w/ Kodi) each time I enter the app similar to the way the Plex app does it (as an option).

Re: Profile switching?
You switch profiles by going to Settings > Profiles. Long press the main button on the profile you want and select load.
I don't think they can have it prompt you to choose a profile every time you enter the app because even when you switch to another app you have technically left it open. The only way is force quitting as you mentioned.

Re: Profile switching?
Thanks for this, will use that method for now. Developers, any chance of getting a "log out" or "switch profiles" button somewhere on the home page or submenus?

Re: Profile switching?
I second the logout/switch profile function. That would be awesome. I'm terrified every time my wife is going to load the kids profile, because delete profile is just below the load option
.
Otherwise, thanx for a superb product! Keep up the good work.

Re: Profile switching?
Profile switch is under system submenu, that's closest to home screen as it can get

Re: Profile switching?
Hey Amet,
When I select Profiles under the Settings menu (Confluence skin) it takes me to the Profiles settings, which to steffe's point isn't exactly user friendly. Can you change this mechanism to either present the profile selection dialog window or log the current profile out (which will present the user w/ the profile selection dialog window) instead?
Thanks!

I'll look what can be done.. we have had "profiles" under settings forever and no one complained so far.. would hate to change it and find out that others liked it the way it is now

No one complained because basically no one used it before :p

Re: Profile switching?
From a usability standpoint, a direct link (in the submenu) to the profile login/switch window rather than to the settings makes more sense in my opinion. In general, profiles are set up or modified infrequently while profile switching (if you're going to do this at all) is more a more regular/frequent action.amet wrote:I'll look what can be done.. we have had "profiles" under settings forever and no one complained so far.. would hate to change it and find out that others liked it the way it is now
That said, I just realized that (with Confluence anyway) there isn't a path to profile settings in the settings section. That poses a problem, I suppose a link would need to be added to settings to get there. Honestly the Kodi implementation of users/profiles isn't the best.
