Fire TV user here. Adding Plex compatibility got me on board. There will have to be more skin choices in the future to make it a daily driver. I like it so far though.

I see posts that talk about skins being so important and I have to wonder why. Can you tell me? Isn't the function of the app much more important that the form? I couldn't care less what the app looks like as long as it does what I need.

If MrMC isn't a daily driver for you because of lack of skins what will you use instead?

I'd agree with you but my whole family, from grandparents to kids, would disagree with you. Form and functionality go almost hand in hand these days.

I want to re-iterate the "thank you" for Plex. It has finally allowed me discontinue use of SMBup (since regular SMB on OSX for MrMC never worked for me, for some reason).

Plex seems very robust and looks like a good way to organize and access a library of content moving forward.

It doesn't have to be form over function or the other way around. I think it's about being in as much control over the entire experience as possible. I could just plug in a computer to the TV and play files from Windows explorer but art and metadata are an important part of the home theater experience. Working on a skin until everything is just right is an important part of the experience, for me at least.
