hmm.. no sure 100%
I remember at one stage last night seing the pause/play button highlighted then after playing around with the remote I saw the fast forward highlighted as well.
I could not figure out how I had managed to have this button highlighted.
It is possible that I tapped the edge of the remote. Once highlighted I tried to swipe left/right but to see if I could highlight other buttons in the OSD but it did not work. I did not tap the edge at this time that is sure.
So are you saying that the correct way to navigate in teh OSD is:
- click on the remote to bring the OSD at the bottom of the screen
- tap the left or right edges of the remote to navigate
- click the remote once you have highlighted the button of your choice
- if you want to stop the action of the highlighted button, do you click again or do you move to another button and click? for instance, if you are fast forwarding, would you highlight the play/pause button and click on it once you want to resume the playback? Or can I simply press play on teh siri remote?
in the kodi version running on the QNAP Hybrid desk station, I need to move the highlight back on the play button to resume playback. It could be simply because there is no play button on the QNAP physical remote (the QNAP remote on iOS has a play/pause, FF, RWD, etc.. button which work without bringing the OSD on the screen)
In the previous thread you stated:
"by default swipe is disabled in fullscreen playback and can be enabled in Settings -> system -> input devices -> disable swipe controls in OSD but ONLY if siri remote support has been enabled in the first line"
is there a specific reason why it is disabled by default? I would have thought the other way round.
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again

Re: Can't stop live TV
Yes, click to bring OSD up then tap edges to navigate(or enable swipe in settings)
If you are ff/few you can use play on Siri Remote to resume normal playback.
Swipe is disabled as users(including me) would ff/rew uncontrollably when picking up the remote

Re: Can't stop live TV
I can confirm that tapping the edges works.
Thanks for your help.
On a different note, are GoPro video supposed to be supported? I have GoPro videos in folders. I can see those videos and it seems that their thumbnails are generated. However when I play them, Apple TV tries to load them then stops and under the video I have 0B being displayed, assuming it is for 0 bytes

Re: Can't stop live TV
I am not familiar with the GoPro format, could you share one with us for testing and we can look into it.
Upload it somewhere and send a link to [email protected] referencing this forum post and I'll test and let you know what can be done.
Thanks!

Re: Can't stop live TV
will do.
note that files can be quite large. From memory the smallest file is probably around 50MB.
I played around last night with the OSD and it is very finicky. Tapping the edge left/right to highlight different buttons always end up for me in clicking it and therefore jumping to the end of the show, exiting the show, etc.
Probably most the people here on the forum already know that but I have found out that the ios kodi app (and probably the android one as well) can connect to MrMc on apple TV 4. The remote on the ios app is much easier to use

Re: Can't stop live TV
The issue i am having is that it does not play at all. When I browse the folder where the video is, I can see the thumbnail being generated. I select the video, play it then I can see at the bottom of the screen "working.." or "playing.." (something like that).
Then it stops and under the thumbnail I have "OB" (not sure what it means but I would have guess 0 byte).
The playback is not even started. Note that the gopro video is located on a QNAP NAS.
