Seems to be fixed but now notice another version 160604.1257 this morning again so I will test again later.

Just a little more question, do you know if this fix will be integrated to pre-alpha Kodi 17 ?

Re: Transcoding Surround speaker issue in 2.2.0
Hi.
I have an issue with the latest version on the Apple TV 4. I have the Apple TV set to best quality in settings and 5.1 speakers. In MrMc I have all the default audio settings but speakers set to 5.1. I'm hoping to get uncompressed multichannel audio from files with DTS-HD MA so to achieve this I have passthrough audio turned off. Unfortunately I'm getting dialogue through the left speaker rather than the centre. Is this a known problem? In other apps like Netflix I'm now getting Multichannel audio instead of DD (a result of changing to best quality in the ATV4 settings I assume) but the dialogue does come from the centre channel.
Seemed like there were issues in the past but they had been sorted?

As far as we know, audio channel mapping is working as it should. As MrMC/tvOS is our daily viewer, my wife would kill me if dialog was not coming out of the center channel.bigbonobo wrote:Hi.

a debuglog might help us reproduce the issue.

Log attached. Hopefully what you were asking for.
At the moment I have passthrough enabled but "DTS capable" turned off. This means for DD that works perfectly (passthrough) but for all DTS and DTS MA tracks I get the dialogue through the left speaker. I get the same result with passthrough turned off.
Just as an aside playing the DTS MA should give me much improved sound over having the DTS core being passed through instead?
Thanks!

Re: Transcoding Surround speaker issue in 2.2.0
So after a little more testing with some DTS HD and DD HD channel test files (with passthrough turned off) I get the same result for both DD HD and DTS HD in that the channels are as follows:
Left channel is correct
Centre Channel is right speaker.
Right channel is the Sub.
Right Surround and Right Rear are the Left Surround
Left Surround and Left Rear are the Centre Channel
I've run the same files through a raspberry pi with OSMC and the channels are correct with passthrough disabled and DTS MA decoding turned on.
The Channels are also correct when passthrough is tuned on in MrMc so I get the core DTS track instead.
Not sure there is much else I should check, I will try with a different amp but the raspberry pi test suggests this may be a MrMc issue for me?

Re: Transcoding Surround speaker issue in 2.2.0
So I tried the Apple TV on another amp and it worked perfectly... So it seems its an issue limited to my Amp which is a Onkyo HTX-22HDX. Very annoying.
