Specifically, these 2 things are still an issue in 2.0 yet in that thread they were marked as fixed:
3. put AppleTV to sleep (hold down TV button and choose sleep). Wake AppleTV up and you're on the home screen. MrMC had crashed upon waking up.
4. leave AppleTV to go to sleep on it's own (in my case 30 min). Wake up AppleTV. Video is still paused in MrMC. Press play and MrMC crashes. BUT NOW in 2.0 the video plays for about 5-10 seconds and then freezes. If you press Menu, after a delay it backs out to the video list. The freeze could be the delay in waiting for the hard drive to spin up but the video never resumed after about 10 seconds.

I am using libdsm. SMBUp has been removed from my Mac running El Capitan 10.11.4 beta. Let me know if you want me to get the logs.
Pause and back to tvOS with or with sleep is a real difficult thing to resolve. there are several holes paths. Couple that with a nasty bug in tvOS where if you are in foreground and screensaver pops, then the tvOS sleeps. It will shove you into the background on screensaver, then into to foreground then it suspends which shoves you into background. There is no notification that you are getting suspended so we can't tell a real move to foreground from a side effect of going to suspend.
