Re: Testing 1.0.1 (151126.2339)
Setup:
Macmini 2012 running 10.10.1 Wifi n 5 GHz
Apple TV Ethernet
PVR: HDhomerun current gen Ethernet
Initial tests:
1. MrMC finds pvr in the scan when the app is opened. It says "that no pvr client is enabled". I enabled hdhomerun client (have tried others too) but it doesn't launch. It also doesn't save that it has been enabled. In other words, if I force close the app, the next scan says the same thing.
2. If Hdhomerun is added via dlna, the channels do not stream. The hardware works fine with other apps e.g.. Channels on Apple TV.
3. SMB nor sftp has worked for me. I have added these via network location, specifying username/password. Zeroconfig sees the shares but doesn't connect to them. Firewall on the server is off. As a workaround I have added a webdav server which is working. The below test is using webdav.
4. Streamed a 9gig mkv. Scrubbed forward and back, very responsive. I can provide the metadata of the file if you wish
5. DVDs do not play. The Video TS folder cannot be browsed.

2) hummmm. Will look into it.
3) Are you using the native osx smbX ? Samba does not support that and the alternate libdsm is not in yet. Use smbUp to restore normal smb to osx.
4) Not sure what you mean here, was there a problem ?
5) DVD and VIDEO_TS are not supported.

Re: Testing 1.0.1 (151126.2339)
smb is working I guess alot of people will get confused and use the mac file sharing but you need to use a program called smbup for it to work i've actually played tv shows and movies and watched them to the end testing.activate wrote:Setup:

sftp is working port 22 or 2222 for ftp its port 21 or 9979 watched tv show and it worked no issues
I don't know what pvr they are claiming to have fixed though and for me the menu button still brings me back to the main screen alot when i am in add videos, add video source, browse i press menu to go back instead of cancel and sometimes it takes me out to homescreen
I don't know about hdhomerun because I don't use it to test.

Guess many testers are from the US and either eating cold turkey left overs or trying get hold of that unresistable offer in a dead or alive battle at the local store.clairebear wrote:mrmc is gonna be a hit when it reaches appstore as currently it does more then other players how many other people are testing mrmc because its quiet on forum.
I still have to dig deeper into a problem I saw yesterday (play some files with DTS or AC3 using passthrough, then a MP4 with e.g. AAC, ATV4 audio is gone).
Played with latest built, scrolling with the Siri remote is much better and actually usable, less nervous. However, its rather slow compared to an IR remote.

Is a holiday (Thanksgiving) here is the USA where we eat loads of Turkey then fall asleep for long naps
We have about 15, kept it small on purpose. Some post here, some email. All positive and have turned up some interesting bugs that got fixed.
