Selecting TVdb as data source for TV shows kept in ISO format

Post by Anony-mouse99 »

I am trying to find out if there is a way to change the data source for a directory containing TV shows that are kept in ISO format (DVD disc images).

From what I understand MrMC expects TV shows to be stored as individual episodes in a given folder with a specific naming convention.

However, in my case, I have DVD disc images of TV series that I would like to have indexed, and this doesn’t work properly.
  • If I set the Directory as containing Movies, it defaults to using The Movie Database as the data source, which does not have information for most of the series I’m interested in.
  • If I set the Directory as containing TV Shows, it will use the TVDB and the shows are indexed correctly. However, upon trying to playback the DVD disc image, it does not recognize the ISO layout and does not load the DVD menu consistently. It will show the VIDEO_TS directory and the individual files inside. When trying to play VIDEO_TS, some discs works, others it complains about “No information found”. This is not an issue if the directory was configured as containing Movies, somehow the DVD menu would always be loaded properly.
Is there a way for me to select TVDB as the data source for a Directory containing Movies? That would solve the problem I face, I believe. Otherwise, can MrMC recognize TV Show directories containing ISO Format files and do the right thing?
