Re: *** tvOS 1.4.0 released ***
Two minor things:
- libdsm can't discover my SMB shares. The "old" library does. So the trick is to add shares via the default client, then switch over to libdsm. I did a reinstall of MrMC, because for some reason if you also have TestFlight installed and MrMC is visible in there, tvOS refuses to update. If you update manually, tvOS keeps seeing an update available.
- The mode (standard, expert etc) for settings doesn't fit in the text field / text box. The most left letters are cut off. Maybe it's related to overscan settings. I had to "shrink" the visible area to make fit on my TV (in screen calibration).
Still "no love" from the top shelf feature. However, guess I have to enable metadata fetching for that.
Two feature requests/questions:
- Still plans for DTS MA/TrueHD bitstreaming ?
- Do you have plans to modernize the UI, so make it more in line with the default tvOS "look" ? I'm referring to buttons, text fields, light/dark grey etc. Some people consider the UI a bit old fashioned. On the other hand, I think it has its charm...

when you say 'libdsm can't discover my SMB shares' do you mean they do not show up in ZeroConfig ? What Server ?loekf2 wrote:Two minor things:

yes, no metadata, there's nothing for topshelf to show.
HD Audio is still under investigation.
Yes, there are plans to have a tvOS like skin.

I'm liking the default MrMC skin, but it will be interesting to see how you handle a tvOS-like skin. Looking forward to that.davilla wrote:Yes, there are plans to have a tvOS like skin.

If I could myself, I would just take the MrMC skin and recolour and flatten it to be more tvOS-like. I like how it currently works and it's layout but it just needs some tweaks to colours and fonts. Also in many places there are scroll bars which I think can be removed as they end up getting in the way and are unnecessary.Sanjuro wrote:I'm liking the default MrMC skin, but it will be interesting to see how you handle a tvOS-like skin.
