In fact, it plays properly all the ones that the apple tv 4k plays with inverted color. The only file it wouldn't play is a glass blowing video with "iOS" in the filename that I'd gotten somewhere.
Do you have any ripped Blu Ray? Or is it all demo stuff? And do you get a DV popup on your TV?
yes my TV (LG OLED C8) reports DV. I wouldn't report it as working if it didn't. :)

I do have a few bluray folders that have DV but Plex won't import those. I do not have any of the single layer bluray rips from dvdfab.
Yes, I concur with my C8 as well. It’s a start.

Is there a correct way to ask for this feature and get an answer about it?

I think the devs are just away. Maybe on vacation or something. Only Amet has been posting. Or it could be that they're busy working on .... developing .... and not posting. :)

Looking into it, but I'm a bit clueless, atm.
HDR10 worked out-of-the-box, so not sure what magic is to be done for DV.

Fact that I own neither the new shield nor a DV TV doesn't help , ofc ;)

What's happening when trying to play DV on the new shield?
Debug log welcome.

Thx

PS: A dump of "media_codecs.xml" (on "/system/vendor/etc" I guess) would be useful as well
