Re: Testing MrMC 3.7.0
So, testing on the shield trying to get the HDR tonemapping working.
I've told it "no" to HDR TV.
Using AMC Surface.
What settings should I have?
I'm getting some HDR files that play with the dull colors, low contrast - in other words, not tonemapped.
Other files are reverting to ff-hevc as decoder and have extreme contrast and are mostly white.

I'll try it but there's still the problem of it not using surface but reverting to ff-hevc.
edit: tried AMC non-surface. no tonemapping.

Re: Testing MrMC 3.7.0
Hello.
Just updated my AppleTV4k to version 3.7.
Noticed that no media files will play anymore.
If I restore build back to previous build, then everything works again.
Also installed 3.7 MrMC touch version on my iPhone 7, and same thing happens, and can no longer
play any media.
If I restore back to previous build, then all works again.
Do I need to reset preferences to account for feature changes?

Re: Testing MrMC 3.7.0
Seems to have broken Plex Service, as that's what I use for movies an TV Shows. (No transcoding)
If I play videos via defined media sources, then can play files.
Will reset my Plex Service preference settings, and see what is working.
Not having much luck, so reverted build back to previous build, and all is fine again.

@cosmoxl
You don't have to fiddle with codecs. If "HDR display" is "No" and a HDR file is detected, MrMC will automatically fallback the AMC non-surface.
Now, ffmpeg is confused by "file.mo" (DV) and do not provide the needed info for detection. I might need a sample to see what can be done.
"file.mk" should be ok, not sure why it falls back on s/w decoding. Maybe because of the codec fiddling?
Is it the "full white" one? I could tell more with a sample as well.
