1.. release the kraken :) Much thanks to @ timstephens24 and @cosmoxl for 1st pass testing

(180317.4 @20180316-23dabe6)
core: return of python
core: add 'plex for kodi' addon
core: check for bogus avg_frame_rate (mkv) before trusting it
core: fixed gif open error, helps to open only once

Check skin settings, there is an entry for placing 'Plex' into home.

I take it subtitle download code isn't merged yet? I think you said something about this in email exchange. Or, am I just not seeing it?

Also, it occurs to me, that there's "kodi" everywhere in the add-on. I guess only Plex devs can change that?

Enable it (subtitle download) in plex settings. Then the button (OSD, far right) will be enabled.

Still tweaking things, kodi refs will get rebranded, never fear :)

I see Kodi references for Video and Audio settings... do you see it anywhere else?

- latest add-on version in Kodi beta channel is 0.14a (0.13 installed); will you maintain the add-on yourself in the future or keep-up with Kodi repo. development?
- one has to register with OpenSubtitles (user name and password required)
- Settings/Video/Allow HEVC is not enabled by default; is it needed or does MrMC player take care of HEVC regardless the settings?

P.S. I guess since Python is back, an Emby add-on is to be expected too ;)

Thanks a lot for this add-on; I don't need any other skin anymore!

Nice! My random thoughts and questions..

Is there a way to go right into the Plex addon upon opening MrMc? You spoiled me with all the smooth tvOS focus work of recent updates. Is there anyway to incorporate those improvements into the addon?
I’m not quite sure what the information ‘i’ offers us on the Movie or TV page. Can you please add Plex’s Rotten Tomato review snippets and TV theme songs?

It’s so nice to meet the Cracken, thanks gentlemen!

Latest in beta channel (0.14a) is aimed at supporting Kodi v18 but yes, we plan on keeping up with upstream (Plex for Kodi) and maintaining and improving Plex for MrMC :)

Still working on proper subtitle support. Plex for Kodi expects the subtitle addon, we brought that addon into core long ago so there are some slight differences we need to resolve.

The plex settings/Video/Allow HEVC needs to be checked or the Plex Server will transcode. I guess we should default that to be enabled. On the list.

Emby addon is under internal discussion, we might release without it initially but add it later.

Plex addon has a setting for that (open a start).

tvOS focus work already works in Plex addon, the only thing I see missing is scrubbing in the OSD. I really miss that to so will be working on a way to bring it back. Might not hit this release. We are pushing hard to get this out.

"Plex’s Rotten Tomato review snippets and TV theme songs?", later :)

opensubtitles requires username/password to operate properly... this is the requirement from their side
