It may be nothing, but the first time launching the app since the update was installed (it had the little blue dot next to it), it crashed the AppleTV. The whole screen flickered, then went black. The spinning icon was in the middle of the screen for a moment and then the main AppleTV screen loaded. The app seems fine now but I thought I'd report it. I'm not in the TestFlight.

Congrats on the release of 2.8.0

it has been quite a difference in the cpu usage when rendering the larger stream bitrates

i was sitting around 200% cpu and dropping frames , here is a screenshot with video acceleration on

i do notice there is not as much smoothness using the software rendering only, but it also wasnt watchable like before, so take it as it is unless there is some more tuning to be done.

Cheers, this has almost become my only media appletv4 except having to flip back for plex channels.

Little confused here, good or bad ? :)

Our tests with vtb show very smooth rendering, even with 5.2 levels. debuglog might show something interesting if you are having issues with vtb.

agree - for me VTB is beautifully smooth. I'll keep an eye on things.

Release is good, very impressed the team could tap into some hardware acceleration.

Apple TV Screensaver unfortunately stops the music playback. Sure that this happens for AMBER skin. Don't know exactly if the other skins are infacted , too.
Furthermore there is no MUSIC Catergory to choose in AMBER skin after the update(MUSIC category is activated in settings)
Other skins are ok in view of this bug.

Can i ask, why is there not an option for skin Estuary? (couse i see, Kodi 17 has new skin.. And i think, is more beautiful... I just say. Would be more modern on AppleTV.)

Estuary requires core changes. Adding those core changes would also mean fixing up all the existing skins. Doable but not an easy task.
