The setting doesn't seem to work on my Plex library after enabling it.
I tried testing it in SPMC with a regular SMB share and it works fine, but since this is for a MrMc/Fire Stick setup I'd rather just use the Plex client so metadata and artwork is stored on my server.

that your media is accessed via plex has nothing to do with refresh rate switching working or not.BaconBits wrote:The setting doesn't seem to work on my Plex library after enabling it.

the developers will have to tell you whether or not the Fire Stick supports switching. If it does and it's not working you might check your display settings in the Fire Stick settings. Resolution has to be set to auto.

It's the new Fire TV stick, but refresh switching works fine with it in SPMC so I assume it would in MrMc too.

This is happening with me, I just got my FireTV and installed MrMC, seemed like the ideal solution however my refresh rate is not switching when using it as a Plex client either.

Those resolutions and rates are what MrMC found. Your video is 23.976. No match so no switch.
In contrast, this is my Samsung

So what does this mean then? my TV definitely does do 24p normally, if I run Kodi through a Raspberry Pi for instance it works as does playing a PS4.

Re: Does Refresh Rate Switching work with the Plex client?
Okay apologies - my fault. I thought my FireTV had updated itself when I first installed it, turns out it was waiting for a "quiet moment" and was quite out of date. Now I have updated it, it is all switching just fine now.
