DD 5.1 - Audio cuts out after pause/play if passthrough enabled

When resuming from pause on video files using DD 5.1, the audio suffers severe drop outs, lasting up to 1 minute if Passthrough is selected. Disabling Passthru fixes the problem. If I keep Passthrough enabled, I have to exit then resume to get audio. This does not occur with DTS 5.1 with Passthrough. Repeatable on multiple video files. I did not see this prior to the last couple of updates.

A general question:

With a 5.1 AV receiver, is there any sound quality advantage to using Audio Passthrough?

Yeah, I'd say there's enough of us reporting this lately to consider it a "known issue." :|

replicated, might be fixed in pending 2.6.3 but still testing.

Looks like this did indeed get fixed in 2.6.3 - thanks!

I did discover one bug as a result, though... With native Dolby Digital (AC-3) soundtracks, passthrough works fine, and in the audio settings during playback, the "Volume" and "Volume amplification" controls are (appropriately) disabled. But with other multichannel soundtracks (AAC, DTS), and DD (AC-3) *transcoding* enabled, the "Volume" and "Volume amplification" controls are still enabled during playback - and do nasty, ugly things if used (severe volume "pumping," like really bad compression).

I discovered this by accident, after enabling DD (AC-3) passthrough and transcoding, upon replaying a movie on which I'd previously set Volume amplification. Presumably the fix is as simple as, "Don't Do That," by disabling the volume adjustment controls when DD (AC-3) transcoding is enabled. You probably also want to ignore existing values (if they aren't already) when these controls are disabled, so they don't get stuck on "Nasty" if they were adjusted before enabling transcoding. ;-)
