access to skin settings is a welcomed feature however there isn't anyway to change the background because it won't give directorys. I have set it to boot up my live tv on startup. I like the new icon.

Few comments:
- Logo is big improvement
- The no sound issue after playing a file with stereo compressed audio (AAC or MP3) after a file with DTS/DD via passthrough is still there. I also found out that toggling the audio format setting between 16-bits and auto in tvOS settings also brings back audio for the ATV.
- Thanks for enabling favorites

Just downloaded via Testflight.

De-interlacing
Testing with TV Headend PVR server running Freeview / Freeview HD in the UK - so MPEG2 576/50i for SD and H264 1080/50i for HD.

Both SD and HD stuff need a "Bob - Invert" to deinterlace from 50i to 50p properly, otherwise you get jerky motion due to deinterlaced frames being presented out of order.

This is unusual (never had to use an inverted Bob on any other platform for Live TV) - but could be a TFF vs BFF funny?

The same is true of other interlaced 50Hz stuff I've tried - like DVB-S2 off-air transport stream recordings, and other native 50i stuff.

(Interesting with deinterlace set to AUTO - not Bob Inverted - when I call up an overlaid menu, the motion stops juddering underneath it)

Audio
Have had some audio oddities. Just switched from watching a file with AC3 audio in passthrough to a file with MP2 audio (which will need decoding). I have silence on the MP2 audio now.

BUT
THIS ROCKS!

720/50p HDTV looks great, and 1080/50i is OK (given that it is being Bobbed)

Also - using Kodi Remote in iOS, when I try to add a custom button using the "...more" option (I want to bring up the 'o' codec screen and can't work out how to from the Apple or Siri Remote) I get "XBMC 'Gotham' version 1.3 or superior is required to access XBMC settings".

I'm guessing this is an issue in the iOS remote reacting to whatever version of Kodi (or not) MrMC is telling the remote app it is?

The remote app reports it as : "ATV 4 v1.0 pre-alpha?" compared to "Kodi (OpenElec) v16.0 beta" on my Raspberry Pi 2 running OE (which I'm using as a TV Headend server for testing with the ATV4 and MrMC)

Blu-ray content
Playing Blu-ray m2ts stuff over a wired network using SMB shares (unRAID server). I'm getting quite a lot of dropped frames on 1080p24 stuff. 21GB for 90 minutes - so approx 32Mb/s bitrate for audio and video? Audio is DTS-HD MA, Video is VC-1.

** UPDATE **
Checked another Blu-ray, similar bitrate but 1080i25 (aka 1080/50i), but encoded with AVC/H264 and it plays a lot better. Not perfect - but a lot better.

oh odd, others have reported no issues with using Kodi Remote in iOS. Not sure where 'ATV 4 v1.0 pre-alpha' is coming from. Will poke.

We would like samples of problem content. 100-200MBs will be fine.

Do not email them :) our email server might barf, lol. Use Dropbox or something similar and email the URL to [email protected]
Also include details on your setup and exact problem you see.

To cut a sample, use 'dd', this will copy the 1st 200MBs into a file, use the same file extension as the input file please.

dd if=recorded_from_DVB_tuner.ts of=sample_for_avidemux.ts bs=200000000 count=1
