Now I'm stuck in creating a new database. I installed the latest version of MySQL 8.0.25 and ran through the usual setup, but nothing happens in MrMC when I refresh the sources. So I turned MySQL off in MrMC and now it won't turn on. It just freezes on a Loading... screen. Then I quit the app and restart it try again and it says "Couldn't open database. Failed to set the new configuration." I haven't changed anything in the configuration.
The log is showing lots of this:
18:51:05.566 T:6174420992 ERROR: Unable to create new database
18:51:05.567 T:6174420992 ERROR: Unable to open database: MyVideos116 [1129](Host '192.168.1.36' is blocked because of many connection errors; unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts')

Nothing? I'm thinking of forgetting about MySQL now. Seems too much trouble for any added benefit if it's just me and my AppleTV.

Did you remove the old database ? It looks like a rights issue, mrmc has not the proper rights to create the database. I assume you checked the wiki on MySQL ?

Yes, installing the latest version of MySQL puts the old database into a different directory (one of the reasons I don't like MySQL - there is no upgrade function for Mac). Then I removed the old database directory from the preference pane and went through the usual setup from the wiki. When that didn't work, I even used the Initialize button to start over again.

I just tried doing an uninstall first, then a new install, ran through the setup from the wiki, still no go. Same error.

Re: Testing MrMC 3.9.12 - Apple TV
Two small errors found in MrMC on Apple TV so far and I hope they can get fixed in 3.9.12 maybe as it seems not to bee a large issue. Links to the reported Errors are
here: https://mrmc.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=5710
and
here: https://mrmc.tv/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=5711
If I could access the content of the App, the Skin issue I could fix myself, sadly that's not possible in tvOS. And the sorting Error in Movies seems just to be the wrong sortby field in the query...at least I hope the fix for this is as easy as it looks like
Thanks for the support.

Re: Testing MrMC 3.9.12 - Apple TV
Just letting you know that I'm still occasionally seeing share failures. It's way less often than it was months ago, but still happens. Just randomly, playing a video will result in an authentication error. Even manually opening the share gives the error. Quitting MrMC and opening it again fixes it.
Also at random times watching TV episodes, the video will stutter for a second, then pause, and then a moment later it closes the playback and returns me to the episode list. I can then play the same episode again with no problems.
When I have time I'll upload some logs, but it happens so rarely I usually forget when it happens.

Testflight builds have been removed, so I have to go back to the released build.

We are looking into it, looks like it got stuck at apple few weeks ago and I didn’t realise that.
I have resent it and it should clear in a day or so
