Would be good to see the debuglog even if you are not playing divx, it will show us that it found your purchase for the earlier versions and enable the divx playback

Divx still plays which I guess is expected for old purchases but I see a banner saying no divx codec found please convert to H264 / H265 or similar when playing divx.

That should not happen… can you get me a debuglog for that please?

I've just tried to recreate, went into settings to turn on debug and it kicked me out to homescreen, since reopening it's not showing any error or banner at all. I have latest test flight on two apple TVs upstairs and downstairs, I only encountered the issue upstairs, both prompted for email address at first run though perhaps it didn't quite take upstairs? Not seeing it on either box after confirming email on the downstairs TV which was updated last. I've turned on debug and will send if I see it again.

thats possibly the issue, it needs to verify the purchase receipt for the app to get the version.

Yes, this happens. I had to select my account and give my iCloud password when I started mrmc. I have two Apple TV4k I only tested it on one. I’ll check number two tonight.

and it worked ok? thats the only way to verify the purchase, doesnt seem like a huge inconvenience

Yes, it worked fine. At first I didn’t get why it was asking to select my account an enter password, but that was because I had not read what you changed. It’s no inconvenience at all.

All working fine here as well on both apple TVs. Not sure what happened earlier but I have from time to time had problems with restoring purchases for other apps that seem to work their way through with a second try.

Probably not the place, but any chance of a fix for the Plex TV show and season views not applying globally?

Definitely not the place, it’s on our to-do list but this needs to be ironed out first. I don’t think it’s an easy fix, it will be looked at
