Question regarding Recently Added music and keeping services active

I just have a couple noob questions with regards to how MrMC works. I'm hoping someone on this forum can point me in the right direction.
1) After I imported my music collection, I noticed that the "recently added" basically shows the last several albums that were actually imported into the library and not albums recently added to my music collection (presumably by using the album folder date?). I'm pretty sure that is how Confluence works on Kodi as well and I understand why it works that way. But I loaded the new SIO2 skin yesterday to check it out and discovered it was showing my "recently added" music the way I expected. Is there a setting on MrMC skin that I can change to show "recently added" albums the way SIO2 is displaying?
2) I originally set up MrMC to serve UPnP content. However, I quickly discovered that it only works when I am actively in the MrMC app on the Apple TV. I guess I had assumed that it would run in the background. Is there a setting somewhere that I can keep the UPnP service and web server (I use the web server to send json-rpc command to update the library after new TV shows are moved to the directory) active in the background? Or is this an Apple limitation?
Thanks!!
