I'm just wondering what tapatalk's role is in the functioning of this forum.

Early in the creation of the forum some users requested it, it’s just a plug in and not overly complicated to maintain.

Do you know of any reason why it shouldn’t be on? Safety issues or any holes in it?

No, I haven't studied if it's safe or not. Just in general I wouldn't want a third party tracking me or something.

As far as I know, it can’t track you unless you are using their dedicated app... and even then, I am not sure if it does track.

Use the forum website and I think we are quite safe, it’s up to date forum software

In order to maintain confidentiality, we disabled the private forums from being used in Tapatalk in the end - I'm therefore not sure if they ever resolved it.
