Possible to copy userdata from Raspberry Pi?

Hello.

I have been using Kodi for quite a while on a Raspberry Pi to watch movies stored on my NAS. I would like to know if it's possible to copy the userdata folder from the Raspberry Pi to McMC on Apple TV 4. I am trying to avoid having to re-scrape the movie artwork.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
you can export the Kodi library backup, in your nas too. Than, restore the library backup of Kodi in MrMC.

I've done in this way and it works.

Than remember to set the video library in MrMC with the same protocol and name.

are you using mysql ? if so, forget the import, set up sources, point to mysql, done.

I have never set up mysql on my Raspberry Pi installation of Kodi. I left everything pretty much untouched after installation. I just used it to play movies from my NAS. Scraping the movies for artwork/metadata was painfully slow and it took a lot of work to get it all just right. In the past, I have copied the userdata folder from one device to another and it just worked afterwards. Will this be possible to do on MrMC?

If it can be done with mysql, what is the procedure? Is there a tutorial anywhere?

Thanks.

http://kodi.wiki/view/MySQL/Setting_up_Kodi

This explains how to setup a MySQL server for Kodi, you can then point MrMC to the MySQL database and it will get all of the metadata from there

This process does have the side effect of creating .nfo and image files along side your movie files though

They can be deleted after everything is imported into a MySQL database but it could be annoying depending on how your folders are structured...

Although, in my experience the raspberry pi is just dirt slow when it comes to scraping metadata...

You will however need to setup the NAS passwords in MrMC though... that can't be avoided...

Thank you very much for the explanation. I will look in to this.

Cheers.
