I am using MrMc as my main player right now.

I need to know if there is going to be support for skins, I would love to use the Amber skin. The default one looks old right now.

I think full support should be given for alternative skins for everyone to enjoy.

There are so many cool skins to use on 'kodi' that will work excellent on MrMC so I hope we get to see them sooner rather than later

Regards,

Jordan

Hi there,
first post.....from long time user of xbmc and Kodi.

As I gonna buy an AppleTV for the fammiliy Christmas present, I just wanna add, that skin-support is very much needed to bring KODI/MrMC into a true app for AppleTV else it will not really shine!

But I would say go for a own skin there is made to look like a dedicated appleTV skin, and one there is also dedicated to bring strong television support!

It would streghten MrMC.......looks good and give acess to the best Movie player/Television front-end in a nice appleTV-look´n´like skin!

Just my cents in this matter, in a try to give good comments!

As skins are add-ons wouldn't they have to be included out of the box, shipped with each build, possibly along with permissions from author of skins ?

I suspect what some people will only want is a matching ATV4 skin. Personally I think this can be actually more confusing to less techy users as they find themselves navigating an app that mimics the stock UI too closely especially as it's so easy to wind back at the ATV home screen. Something that matches the tone's and colors of the ATV4 but not necessarily the layout or icons.

Perhaps a compromise option would be to adopt something like a tweaker friendly version of Confluence as the stock skin, Xonfluence for example though it doesn't have to be that, you could do your own version and include a matching gray/white gray color scheme for the ATV4.

That way you avoid supporting other skins, instead give users tweaks to adjust the look of the stock skin but nothing more than that.

The whole point of MrMC, at least for me, is resembling Kodi.
There is no point in making this player ATV4 visually alike (like Infuse or Plex).

I vote for Kodi skins support.

unfortunately there is no point in voting or adding +1, we have some limitation as to what Apple allows us to do. Also, Kodi/XBMC skins are not 100% compatible as almost all of them need addons ... thats python support that we dont have.

We are looking into adding Amber skin in as we speak, in future there might be one more if we feel its necessary.
