Hi MRMC-Team,

there will be a version for the new Apple TV 4K with the same features on the Fire TV 4K Version? Automatically recognition and switch to FHD and 2160p when streaming Video Files?

There is no tvOS API to alter the display setting.

Oh, so just 4K-Movies only over the iTunes Store. This is a pity. :?

I think you'll still be able to play 4k movies in MrMC. There's just no automatic display changing.

Fresh Screenshots from Apple TV 4K. A hope for automatically 24p switching? :)

Does mrmc already support 4K? If so, are there any setting that needs to be changed? I’ve tested a 4K test video and it looked downscaled. (Couldn’t read the bottom line which you can if the video plays in 4k)

As I wrote somewhere else in this forum, MrMC plays 1080p media of all kinds, inkl. high-rate HEVC, smoothly on the ATV 4K.
I didn't try 4K contents yet, but I suspect the HW decoding might need to be engaged here, which, I guess, is not yet the case.
