ORSAY and TIZEN development

Hello,

I've just posted the below message on another board - if anyone is interested i can provide help/support.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Hi All,

From what i can read here, it seems that no-one is doing TIZEN development - which is a shame - as S. Smart TVs are a significant portion in the market - we're talking about millions of TVs connected to internet in EU

Anyone with GFK access can see the numbers.

Anyway - there are two ways forward:
-> TIZEN(2015+2016+2017 TVs) and ORSAY app (2011,2012,2013,2014 TVs) - two apps developed - for TIZEN development link here: http://developer.samsung.com/tv/develop
-> Toast build (app which will run on both ORSAY and TIZEN) : http://developer.samsung.com/tv/develop/...ies/toast/

Documentation, SDK, various examples apps, etc. are available and there are enough developers developing for TIZEN platform.

If anyone will change perspective and will be interested in bringing Kodi on S. TVs I can offer support.

Best
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Thank You

I highly doubt that either of those 'helpers' will work with an almost pure native c/c++ app such as MrMC. There are almost 25 dependent c/c++ libs that have to work before even the main app can function.

From what I read, only 'partners' can develop and deploy native apps on the TIZEN TV platforms. It's not clear what a 'partner' is nor how to become one.

But given those hurdles, TIZEN is on our list and we have just not had time to fully investigate porting.

Thank you for your reply.

Regarding native app:
http://developer.samsung.com/tv/develop ... ng-started

Regarding partner status - can be achieved:
http://developer.samsung.com/tv/distrib ... embership/

I am aware of a few apps which run as native apps, but most of them are web-based apps.

When you will have time to invest (and if i'll still can at that time) let me know.
