Yep, I just tested opacity too.

So, when the screensaver comes on the stream is paused. Pressing play gets it going from where it stopped. There's a log.

I wonder if TVOS 12.0 is to blame, I dont have any issues with it on tvOS 11.*.. @davilla ?
I don't think it's a tvos12 problem as then it would effect other apps? I've actually been watching in MrMC for a while now and it's not going to screensaver. So, it's not 100% reproducible.

As reported earlier, I’m on tvOS 11.4 and having cosmoxl on tvOS 12 seems to me that latest Testflight build triggers it.

Yeah, I can't say for sure but I thought that I probably watched live tv on tvos12 without problem prior to the latest testflight. :D

and its all ok using opacity? thats odd .. could you get a debuglog when it happens? I dont see it here
It also happens in Opacity as already reported.

Now, I'm confused. The tvOS screensaver should be enabled to fire when paused. That's as designed. We block (disable) it when playing. When stop/pause, tvOS screensaver is enabled to fire (it's count down starts). When in GUI, each time a users nav's around, the tvOS screensaver timer is reset.

Okay, I just trying playing the same dual layer m2ts file that I have been testing.
  • I did not seeing the macroblocking smear type thing that I mentioned before.
  • What I am getting is serious buffering. It only plays for 2-3 seconds before the circle pops up and spends 10-15 seconds buffering from about 30%-100%.
  • It is NOT triggering HDR of any kind.
Again, none of these issues in Infuse or the native Plex (beta) app. The only downside to the Plex app is that it is transcoding the audio.

I'm saying that the stream pauses by itself as the screensaver comes on. I'm saying the stream doesn't stop or keep playing in the background. The screensaver coming on and apparent pause happen simultaneously and I'm not doing it. :) I only said that to give you something to look for in the log.

Nothing in log is HEVC. They look like the above. H264 with acc audio. Smells like someone is transcoding.

Thanks do adding me to the TestFlight.

some issues

- services: Emby service does not display any media at all
- Home menu: When on on the home menu and movies, tv-shows, music and playlists and media sources are visible in
the left menu, disabling media sources moves down the entire menu list down 1 position from the top.
You now see : Blank - movies - tv-shows - music - playlists
- In Ariana: when choosing icon view, the fanart is not visible in the background.
- In Opacity: Playlist is not selectable in the skin settings

I’ve removed fanart as it served no purpose in grid view.
