tvOS 12.1.2, Ariana
previous version deleted, freshly installed MrMC

General:
- Atmos demo clips do not hang at the end anymore

Emby Client (Server version 4.1.0.6 on Windows; 4.0.0 on Synology DS918+)
- Music Videos do not show-up (no Tile on the Home screen but with Plex they show and play correctly!);
- Music does not play; when trying to play a track, I get a blank screen and can only get-out by force quitting the app
- Selecting TV Shows from the Home screen, shows (place holders for) media shares (two in my case), selecting one share shows the media correctly; but the page title is then "cryptic", e.g. "aHR0cDOVLz ....."
- still, no labels for the shelves on Home screen

Plex Extension (v1.1.6.1; Server v1.14.1.5488)
- still, the upper (top) line does not scroll together with the shelves, i.e. overlaps with the shelve tiles (in Kodi, it does scroll)

Nice new entry animation.

The problem of DD+ Atmos files hanging at the end may be fixed. Will continue to test.

The problem of the previously mentioned HDR file not triggering HDR is still there.

My audio configuration is 4 for Dolby surround and 2 for Atmos (no centre and no subwoofer).
What is the proper channel setting (Settings/System/Audio) while testing Atmos content?

Thanks

So you have a 7.1.2 setup? The correct settings should be setting it to 7.1.

MrMC's audio channel does not matter for Atmos decoder. It's native and passed through to the a/v receiver for actual decoding. That is for AppleTV4K.

I can always depend on cosmoxl tossing me a curveball :)

For this one, it's hev1 which means sps/pps/vps are in actual stream, not in extradata. VideoToolBox decoder knows how to defer the "open" until it can pull them out of the stream but CDVDVideoCodecAVFoundation does not have that handling yet. On the list now.

It does show the power of the AppleTV4K cpu :) Does 1080p HDR HEVC sw decode just fine.

5.1.2 (FR, FL, SR, SL, AtmosR, AtmosL, no Centre, no Sub), so only 6 channels are powered.
If I understood @davilla correctly, ATV will recognize the channel configuration and adapt accordingly.
The channel setting stops at 7 (no 7.1)
Thanks

EDIT: There is, in fact, 7.1 setting; seems I couldn't/didn't scroll far enough; sorry!

So, if I understood you correctly, the ATV4K will detect the driven channels? If so, could I then the channel setting at 2 or set it to 4, 5.1 or 7?

EDIT: my current setting is 5.1; works fine but just wanted to make sure. Thanks
