Ariana general feedback:
-Adding 'Log Off' on the main screen is amazing. Makes switching users a LOT earier, and would probably make me not use the Plex addon.
-No dark mode makes me sad. I'm just not a big fan of the light icons on a light background, with another light background in the back. I see you said it'll come eventually, so I'll be patient.
-I'd like to be able to remove the extra stuff like Music videos, Pictures, Add-ons, etc and add Plex to the main screen
-On the main screen something to show what each line of Movies/TV shows is, i.e. Recently Added, In Progress, etc

Ariana feedback for the Movies/TV section:
-I really like the icons layout, you get 12 movies on the screen, unlike the wall view for Opacity where you only get 8. It's also more of an Apple feel.
-Can you add the video info icons (like the resolution, rating, sound, codec), probably up at the top bar? Or at least the option to do this, it helps when using an Apple TV 4 to see if it can play that movie.
-Is there a way to change Services to show Movies or TV Shows?
-Watched/unwatched identification is good, I really like that the TV shows the number of unwatched items.
-The video info page layout is really good, but I would like to see the background picture instead of it basically being all white.
-Same as above for the subsections under a show, like if I go into the Big Bang Theory to choose the seasons and/or episode I want to watch, I would rather see more of the background image and less of the white.

Ariana video playback screen:
-Couldn't test yet because I'm tethered to my phone and it's really really slow.

Ariana overall feedback:
I really really like where this is going. I think this skin has the best feel and flow, especially on the Apple TV. Any plans to make it work on the iPad?

- Ariana: very nice layout; PMP inspired. I don't know whether it will switch to a Dark Theme when ATV switches the mode after sunset (I tested during daylight) but the contrast of the to the media selection row at top and the white background is quite poor. Also, the contrast to the -quite small- icons of the media kind and their background is poor. It seems to me that the colour scheme needs some tuning in general.

Ariana and PMP are Apple inspired, not the other way around

Theme switching is not yet in place but will be available eventually. Home library icons will eventually be coloured - that should improve contrast and ease of navigation. What do you think is small - library section icons or home shelves posters?

I’m glad both are Apple inspired; Ariana is fully to my taste; thanks a lot.
I meant the Home screen icons on the top row for Movies, TV, etc. I’m sure you will add some way to select which of them one really want on the screen, e.g., I usually don’t play music using MrMC.
Also, please add labels to the home screen for Recently added, Watching, etc.

In short, when Ariana is finished, i won’t need any other skin, congratulations for the fine design

I'm having a problem with the itunes file sharing/local file sytem access.

There seems to be no way to specify which directory that individual files go into - TV or Movies, for example.

If you put a mix of TV and Movies into the root directory, set a TV and a Movie scraper to look at that same directory, my experience is that the TV library is removed but the Movie one exists.

Obviously I don't have to scrape and can just browse via media sources.

Or a person can organize media into folders prior to uploading to the device. But, adding new media means having to add each new folder as a media source, setting the scraper.

Am I missing any other option?

@Amet, I was hoping you had some ideas on this? Is it proper behavior that I can't have two different scrapers for the same directory?

I am not in front of it, but I seem to remember being able to add many folders in there... what’s stopping you from uploading a movie folder and a tv folder separately and setting it as individual sources?

Edit: and to answer the question, yes it’s normal to not be able to set 2 categories to a single source

Edit2: I see, you can add the multiple folders but can’t add items into folders... did you try using file manager to move movie to movie folder from root?

right - can't add to folders. What file manager are you meaning?

I did learn how to add folders via the iTunes interface. In windows, hold down shift and "add file" will change to "add folder". Then I could set a scraper for each new folder added but that would be the more tedious method. Hopefully this file manager you speak of will work.

ah. file manager inside MrMC. I was thinking an iOS app. Thanks!

Another problem I'm seeing is the speed of the transfer. Do you have any control over that?

I can transfer a file from a network drive to the PC with itunes at 300mbits/s but the transfer within itunes only goes at about 100mbit/s.

edit: Yes, file manager works.

edit 2: same as last night, it seems that theTVDB scraper isn't working. but, the movie DB is working.

I’ll check issues with tvdb, others reported them as well... not sure what’s happening

Speed when you copy the files into shared folder or copy via file manager? Either way, we have no control over transfer speed but I would assume latter is just a move.
