I am seeing a freeze with 1080i live TV via tvheadend. Content is HD.264.
I have media codec (surface) only enabled, is this the recommended accn method?
I would upload the log, but it's not in the normal special://profile location.

just a few things I'm seeing, log here
http://pastebin.com/rHvqbntP
1) playback of a pawn stars episode starts and then in a couple seconds freezes, every time.
2) a 96khz truehd track, from oblivion, doesn't play. I know on the other devices that's expected but I think the shield should support that. it tries to passthrough but then skips in and out a few times then is gone.
3) I can't access my SMB network on shield or on the firetv. on the apple tv it works just fine. I get a connection timed out error.
all three of these events is in the log linked above.
The test clip of oblivion plays fine over local (smb server) on mine. Denon W3200 amp shows TrueHD.
We can't seem to find that pawn stars episode clip, check if you can undelete it via dropbox.
SMB is still under investigation. Problem is I can't see why it is timing out. WorkForMe(tm)

Does not make sense that your AppleTV4 has no problems, yet FireTV/Shield do. Something blocking ports ? Mine is setup for port 445 and my QNAP is setup to be the WINS server and serving SMB 2.0 version

1080i/h264 should be vectored to ffmpeg. We just don't trust interlaced content with MediaCodec Surface. Debuglog would tell

ha! I just tried the Oblivion test file I made and it does indeed play the truehd track. I guess it's a problem with the whole movie mkv I'd created. But I extracted this sample from that mkv.

re-muxing must have fixed it.
I just restored the problematic pawn stars file on dropbox. it's an interlaced h264 file and amc(s) is trying to decode it. maybe that's why?
regarding SMB, I don't know what to say. I'm not running a WINS server and I don't know what version SMB windows 10 file sharing is. Nor do I know what port but I know the windows firewall is set to pass file sharing obviously since I can access it from other windows machines.
maybe the iOS and tvOS are more forgiving for not having a WINS server?

Cool log method!
Log is here:

It should just show mrmc starting up, loading the guide and the starting and freezing on BBC1HD

Humm, interlaced check passed ? then all hell broke lose

It should be ok with MediaCodec turned off. Have to dig deeper to see how interlace check could have failed.

I can upload you a sample if it will help. I have the same issue with recorded content from the same source.

HAHHAHA, interlaced check failed because it only applied for fireOS devices

Silly me.
