Hi
as of the last beta versions auto resolution switch even when turned on as before does not work
I tried FHD content, 720p, 480p it stays on the default resolution (4K)
log is here:
https://pastebin.com/ZZhzvmyL
In the log you'll see 2 files one 480p and another is 1280x720
the log also state the resolution stays the default (if I understand the log correctly)
22:35:34.470 T:205372118256 NOTICE: fps: 23.976024, pwidth: 1280, pheight: 720, dwidth: 1280, dheight: 720, colorrange: Limited, colorspace: fcc, colortransfer: reserved
22:35:34.470 T:205372118256 DEBUG: OutputPicture - change configuration. 1280x720. framerate: 23.98. format: MEDIACODECSURFACE
22:35:34.470 T:205372118256 DEBUG: Resolution 3840x2160 @ 50.000000 - Full Screen (18) not a very good match for fps 23.976 (weight: 0.043), trying 2:3 cadence

thanks
Elad
The log also shows this;
22:34:39.977 T:205338793200 INFO: CWinSystemAndroidEGL : fetchDisplayModes : found 3 modes
22:34:39.978 T:205338793200 NOTICE: Found resolution 1920 x 1080 for display 0 with 3840 x 2160 @ 59.940060 Hz
22:34:39.978 T:205338793200 NOTICE: Found resolution 1920 x 1080 for display 0 with 3840 x 2160 @ 60.000004 Hz
22:34:39.978 T:205338793200 NOTICE: Found resolution 1920 x 1080 for display 0 with 3840 x 2160 @ 50.000000 Hz
Which means that only these display settings where found. Check your android side settings, it's limiting detection to three modes.
MrMC can only switch to a display mode that is available.

I set up my shield tv to rec 709 ( as I think it is better for none 4k hdr content) auto resolution does not work in that state
but in rec2020 it does from 720p and up

I have my shield set to 1080p SDR (specifically 1920x1080 59.940 Hz YUV 422 12-bit Rec. 709) and it switches to 4K fine but not down to 720p.

My shield has colorimetry on and is set to 4k 59.94fps yuv422 12-bit rec2020.
It doesn't actually switch to rec2020 unless it's needed and in MrMC it switches to 1080p and 720p when needed.

My problem was downgrade to SD resolution
4K was fine as that was the default resolution.
In 709 rec it didn't work.
However funny thing. I turned this feature off in MRMC. I discovered that some content actually looks bad when resolution is changed... So all in all I ended up staying on 4K resolution.
As long as refresh rate is synced I'm happy

With the latest build, 2019-03-27-fbc7256. Iām having issues with video stuttering still on some 1080p files that work perfectly with SPMC. Disabling āAdvanced timingā fixes it but then audio sync is off. I have the shield and MRMC set to 24fps because thatās the only way I can get an 4K HDR signal to our projector. The files Iām having issues with are at 24fps too of course. Could you check into this when you have a moment? Thank you all again for all your hard work.
I also experience this problem, I get headaches watching anything with MRMC, I had to switch to Kodi for the time being.
It is like if the frames are completely async. Panning scenes are a pain to watch. I have been experiencing this issue for quite some time now. Kodi or SPMC works perfectly.
Hi Amazing Coding Magicians. Any word on a fix for this? I hate going back and forth from MRMC to SPMC depending on the file we want to watch. Truly appreciate all your hard work!

Is audio sync is off a fixed amount ? How much ? You know you can set a global a/v sync offset ?

Yes. If I do fix it, the frame rate still isnāt right. If the camera is panning it looks pretty choppy and awful. Almost as if less than 24 frames per second is being displayed. The strange thing is all these files work perfectly with SPMC and Kodi with all the same settings.

I'm confused. "Disabling āAdvanced timingā fixes it but then audio sync is off.",
Is this not true anymore ?
