Just as a side note, on macOS there is no option for single and dual. Moving the slider does rip it into single I believe as it shows fps, but copy not. I canceled the rip on macOS as it was only at 44% after 48 hours. So I would love to know if single copy has the right Dolby vision.

I watch mortal engines last night and my lg c8 report the files as dolby vision. I also made a dual layer copy. Compare this two and could not SEE any different.

@Morten1969: can you check what happens when you remove the Dolby Vision EL track from the folder. Does DVDFab report it as a Dolby Vision title? If it still does, can you make a single stream from it?

amazing, this appears to be a lossless single layer dolby vision file can you use pleease try mkvtoolnix to mux its video track and the hd-audio track (from source) into an mkv file? apparently this will play in dolby vision! it will be as if you're watching/hearing the actual disc, but in MrMC Matroska container actually can do dolby vision, it's just been only limited to a single video track this whole time, which is what we now have. even some LG DV demos are mkv.

Mkvtoolix is not importing the file right so it's not working.
what is working is when you copy the filein dvdfab and set the output DV layer 1 you can also copy the audio file, for dolby truehd you get ac3 640 but for dts hd you get dts 5.1.

I think the MacOS version is behind behind the windows version now.

That was a poorly worded sentence. What I meant is: demux and remove the 2nd track in the m2ts container. Mux it and replace the original file in the folder with this newly muxed file.

Anyways... I tried it and DVDFab still recognized the title as Dolby Vision. It also started the process, reached 100% in an hour and then it started showing 200,000 hrs to complete. With the original m2ts file, it did make the "profile 5" file in about 17 min.

you need to:

• demux the mp4 first to get the h265 video track. demux the hd-audio track from the source m2ts file. add these two tracks into mkvtoolnix and click start multiplexing.

you will get an mkv with full hd-audio+atmos.
the issue I'm having is in the first step, when I demux the mp4, the h265 track loses the DV Metadata; there's literally no mention of it. it might because I'm using dolby's mp4demuxer, although it works just fine on the LG DV .ts demo files. I need to find which program Blumonium and other release groups are using to go from mp4 to mkv. making an mkv is easy, I just need an mp4 extractor that handles h265 properly.

So I got curious, fetched Escape.Room.2019.2160p.DolbyVision.WEB-DL.DTS-HD.MA.5.1.H.265-BLUTONiUM

Mediinfo : It's not DolbyVision and worse, they screwed up the colors. Nice work guys

If you let these devs know that MrMC is indeed software that can do it, maybe they'll make an MrMC profile using .ts with copy audio and a video quality slider that can go up to lossless. that would be amazing! they clearly have everything they need to do it, just no incentive as they don't realize MrMC's capabilities
