My testing:Sanjuro wrote: 1. When I paused for more than a minute or two (on any video file), I believe the whole app crashed when I went to click play again.
2. Sometimes, even though my entire library showed up (in terms of thumbnails, etc.), my files wouldn't play at all.
3. Updating library (to attempt to rectify problem #2) often just returned "compressing database" (really quickly) and wasn't really updating my library. It often took restarting the app a few times and updating the library a few times to be able to play any video files at that point.
1. This is indeed an issue. The first time I tried pausing a video then leaving it and coming back about 20 minutes later, I clicked play and MrMC crashed.
2. I tried playing several videos at random with no problem. Generally playback seems quick.
3. MrMC scanned my library of hundreds of videos with no issue.
I'll be going back to SMBUp until at least the crashing issue is fixed. If I could get on the FlightTest team I would be willing to help out.

1) is tvOS screensaver running when you go to unpause ?
I just paused a video for over 30mins and tvOS screensaver kicked it too. 1st click got out of screensaver, 2nd unpause. No crash.
What are you doing, exact details, please.

I paused a video and left the TV alone. When I came back, the TV was turned off along with the AppleTV. I pressed a key to turn it all on. MrMC was still paused. I clicked Play and MrMC crashed.

Do you have some sort of HDMI control enabled on your tv? And is this also enabled in the appletv? If yes, are they indeed as asked, set to sleep after a certain time?jabohn wrote:I paused a video and left the TV alone. When I came back, the TV was turned off along with the AppleTV. Jabohn: Since this is the only issue you are having at this point with SMBx-and-libdsm, can you confirm that pausing for shorter lengths of time (2 minutes or 5 minutes or so) does not cause any issues when you click play again? I never honestly leave videos paused for 20 minutes or more, so if pause works for shorter lengths of time, I may go back to SMBx and give it a shot.jabohn wrote:My testing:Sanjuro wrote: 1. Re: *** tvOS 1.3.0 released ***
This is correct and intended behaviour. My point was that after a period of inactivity, unpausing a video causes a crash. I will try a shorter period of time (before the TV etc. shuts down) and see if it still freezes.lemonkid wrote:Do you have some sort of HDMI control enabled on your tv? I've replied to this in the other thread.Sanjuro wrote:Jabohn: Since this is the only issue you are having at this point with SMBx-and-libdsm, can you confirm that pausing for shorter lengths of time (2 minutes or 5 minutes or so) does not cause any issues when you click play again?
