Re: testing MrMC 3.0.4
I'm seeing what I think is better playback of those DVD rips I talked about in the request thread with the new ffmpeg in the tvOS testflight. So, that's good news.
However, last night as I tested some other things I think I noticed a tiny bit of static coming through the audio here and there. Sync to display on, so ffmpeg is decoding to PCM out. I'll have to keep an ear out for that.
I have no truly scientific results on the improvement to HEVC playback but to my memory it isn't improved at all.

Playing back a lot of recorded TV so far today on the ATV4 set to sync to display.
I'm hearing audio blank out in small blips sometimes, it comes in bunches, then everything is OK. If I rewind and replay the same part there is no gap. I don't think I've ever had this problem before but it's been a while since I use the ATV4 for this media.

Will try to keep testing. I played back one recording with no problems with audio from CBS channel. But several other recordings, all from ABC, had the blips.

Plex works fine with local and remote servers, including transcoding.
No noticeable improvement in hevc playback of the media I have (e.g. The Sopranos, hevc, 10bit, 1080p, 23.333FPS; plays smoothly with Plex transcoding enabled; choppy without). In general, I still need the HW-decoding of my Minix U1 (Amlogic S905) for hevc playback.
No noticeable audio glitches.
Testing to be continued.

That sounds good to me.amet wrote: 28 Apr 2017, 16:30 No epg downloaded for now, these are requests and we can take them in account once finished with planned upgrades and fixes
I hope that you will work more on the TV function in the future.
IPTV is moving ever more to the fore.
For me runs MrMC to 99% on the Apple TV.
I love MrMC
Version 3.0.4 works fine !!

It may be placebo but I think it got better again, almost playable now! Hevc that is.
Found something weird when I pulled up the codec info view; it says forward buffer is at 75 MB and 100% even though I've set all filesystems to 200 MB.
It's the same with other media as well.

Re: testing MrMC 3.0.4
cache buffer size is split up in various different ways depending on video container. For some, it is a two way split. 1/2 forward, 1/2 back (for backwards) seeks. Others do a three way split. That looks like a three way split.Looxoor wrote: 01 May 2017, 19:40 It may be placebo but I think it got better again, almost playable now! Hevc that is.

As for HEVC, more neon code for HEVC in FFmpeg 3.3.
