I’m testing auto play with a couple tv series and 2 consecutive episodes. I can’t get it to autoplay all the time. I think it worked once though. Auto play is checked in settings-video-playback.

hm, not sure whats different from my setup... note that it will only work for next item if you run it from a list of episodes... it wont work from Recently added/in Progress as it creates a "playlist" of items that are in the same window. its not ideal, but that how MrMC library works

Movie night just started here, with an unexpected surprise for the Emby Client in new TF.
A lot of Emby library sort options are MISSING in the Emby Client, like Sort on "Date added" which is my household MAIN sort option, when using Emby.

Is this broken unintentionally ?
Reverted back to previous TF now, to keep my family members happy

Not sure what "Mosaic TV" is but I was hopeful that this TF release would implement some kind of "remembering" of where you are in a file generally when playing files from network shares. If you accidentally back out of a file at the moment it doesn't remember your position or prompt you to play from there when you go back in. Is this correct behaviour? This to me is a major downside of MrMC and keeps me going back to Infuse at present, even though I like a lot of other things in MrMC.

I play from a network share and it remembers where I left off. When I play a partially watched file it asks if I want to start over or resume.

Ok thanks ... not sure why it doesn't do it for me then ... is it a setting I need to turn on or does it default that way?

I suspect that you are completely FRESH to MrMC and Kodi. I guess that you haven't Set Content, for the Video Source added. In MrMC and Kodi, its libraries are used to keep track of watched status and resume points. If you don't Set Content, than your Media doesn't get added to the MrMC library and than you get the symptoms you describe
MrMC is based on Kodi, so use this for setting up your libraries https://kodi.wiki/view/Adding_video_sources

Apologies, I don't wish to pull this further off the perceived topic, so I'll ask elsewhere, but my objective is to have MrMC remember the position in the file without having to "scrape" any other metadata from information providers etc. Infuse does this, which is the behaviour I'm used to.

No problem, I can understand your question and that you are not aware of the Kodi Jarvis (Kodi 16) engine, that MrMC is based on. Kodi 18 does have your requested feature, so maybe that's causing confusion.

There is a setting, by default it is off.
