Still seeing the same performance issues as all other 3.7.X releases
Found out that I could jailbreak the device so did that and installed kodi 17.6 with confluence skin. The idea was to test the same setup (or as close as possible to MrMC with MrMC skin)
using the same ATV4K against the same
SMB share, in Kodi it takes milliseconds to navigate back out of a subfolder, with MrMC the same operation takes from a few seconds up to a minute.
Nothing obvious shows in the log (even at debug level)

Is the emby startup loss of focus issue fixed or not ?
Same for tvOS sleep/audio ?
What do you mean by “start-up loss of focus”?
User has emby setup. MrMC is started. Busy dialog appears and when it goes away, home shows but nothing is in focus so nav is impossible.
this issue is gone.

In Ariana for live TV there's no way that I can open up the top shelf / side shelf to change it from TV to Guide to change categories or do any filtering or anything.
Is this fixed in latest TF? Worked fine for me before so I can’t really tell
It works now, thanks!

Which

The default client (libsmbclient). I did reset settings/services/
SMB Client to default and restarted MrMC.
The skin is MrMC.
Video/Files view
Tried on a specifik
SMB share that should be rather constant in size for a while. Clicking back from within a subfolder.
view mode: Thumbnail
Average over 5 times: 5 seconds
Same test with view mode: list.
Average over 5 times: 5 seconds. If there is a difference it's so small that I cant detect it.
Disabled
SMB stat and redid the tests
view mode: Thumbnail.
Average over 5 times: 3-4 seconds.
view mode: list.
Average over 5 times: 3-4 seconds.
disabling
SMB Stat clearly improves performance
With libdsm and
SMB stat disabled:
view mode: Thumbnail.
Average over 5 times: 4 seconds.
With libsmb2 and
SMB stat disabled:
view mode: Thumbnail.
Average over 5 times: 4 seconds.
It doesn't seem like the other libraries are faster

Hi - just wanted to say that the skin sync seemed to fix one of the issues I posted about here:

The “no sound” issue is still fixed. But now there is a short stop (hickup) in the sound a few seconds after you start a video.
To be more detailed: start a video (count 1,2,3,4,5,6) sound, picture......at count 6 the sound stops shortly (a hickup).....and sound continues normally. Its not disturbing i just noticed it.
Should i test it with some options on / off and post a log ? Or a video ?
