I occasionally playback ISO files of movies where the best quality is important for me. Yesterday, we watched The Hobbit and we had to interrupt (stop) the playback after approx. 77 minutes without any issues. Trying to resume watching was impossible for some time. Why? MrMC/the ATV 4k was obviously unable to synch Audio/Video, stuttered, no Audio. I made several attempts, even rebooted the ATV one time but no luck. We then had a longer break and resumed watching after 15 minutes or so - and surprise: MrMC/ATV was behaving as usual.

My setup:
- ATV 4k with MrMC beta (previous version as currently out)
- Gigabit network
- Files on a QNAP NAS connected via NFS

I never experienced such behavior when playing .mkv but I can hardly remember occasionally having such issue with ISO. Well, usually we watch movies without interruption... ;-)

For sure I am aware that a logfile is of help and I will prepare for this for the next time. However, any idea of what could be causing this?

No problems anymore in my multi profile MrMC setup :D

I still notice MrMC Volume levels are off, so now I did some peak sound level measurements in dB with iOS "dB meter", a digital dB meter app which records average and peak sound levels.

Live TV AC3 channel vs Recording play of that same channel in MrMC vs play of that same recording in Infuse:
MrMC is approx. 6dB down in peak level when playing the recording, compared to Live TV channel play or Infuse.

Local content, intro clip 20th Century Fox Bohemian Rhapsody (eAC3 or DD+)
MrMC is approx. 9dB down in peak level compared to Infuse during that intro clip. Infuse sounds more spatial and vibrant.

I double checked if audio settings in MrMC during play, used different settings for "Volume & Volume amplification", but both were set at 0.0dB.
I could make the same statement as Montoya. Recordings from live TV are played more quietly than the live playback of a TV channel.

Do either of you have "Boost voice channel" enabled ?

Nope… 0dB !
