I think it's dead, at least on Android. No update since Nov 2020. It's a bummer, because it's almost perfect except for some graphical glitches (many people mentioned the poster disappearing issue in another thread).

Something else that annoys me is when viewing pictures. When you exit a picture view, there's one button press that's not registered before you can browse again. Not sure if Kodi had that.

Updates / test builds are little, that is true. I hope it’s not dead. There was some testing done for version 4.0, but I don’t know what the hold up is. It would be nice if @amet or @Davila could give a sign of live. Things are running smooth at the moment on tvOS.

On the Apple TV there is jellyfin with infuse, which I am testing at the moment. It’s not mrmc but it’s very stable.

I hope too that it is not dead as it is still the best player on tvOS. I still have some small glitches here and there, but still the best player.

3.9-10 was released 2020-11-08, so the newest version is exactly one year old today.

Pending a rebuttal from the devs, I'd say, "It's dead, Jim". That doesn't mean it's not a perfectly serviceable media player still. I use it daily on my Nvidia Shield as Kodi Matrix doesn't offer me any additional value that would mandate ditching MrMC.

Do you have this issue with posters disappearing or looking messed up after minimizing on the Shield?

Hmmm, I don't use posters... and I don't remember ever minimising MrMC.

Hello
It has been a long time since I noticed that the developers of this software openly made fun of their client !!!
I solved my problem by:
- uninstalling this junk that I paid for
- and installing "Just Player" which is free and which replaces it advantageously !!!

This Just Player app seems like only a video player with no library capability?. Nova Player sucks, it can't even read PGS subtitles.

Anyone aware of decent alternatives on TVOS?

Looks like @amet and @davilla are not active anymore. For the moment all is fine and working, however, it just a question of time until something breaks due to an TVOS update or similar. I just wanna be prepared for that moment.
