Well looks like whether or not things work depends on our system. For me I had to enable IEC packed.

OK, I went back and tested more.

I tested TrueHD and DTS-HD tracks, 4k and 1080p. All worked just fine with IEC packed on or off.

The only thing that didn't work with raw (IEC off) was a 96khz TrueHD track. It skipped in and out.

If you have the 2019 shield you might also get different results whether or not you have Dolby Processing on or off in the shield device audio settings. With processing on I find I need IEC packed enabled or else the audio gets manipulated by the shield, especially DD+ Atmos tracks.

I posted a beta with tweakings to the audio synchonization backported from Kodi.
Please give it a try...

It's ok for me, all HD soundtracks works, on mkv and Iso. (IEC activated)
