First I want to express my gratitude for being allowed to test the app - that is great :)
My first impression is that the new version doesn't change what I was expecting. Let me explain...
In a nutshell I want a good media player with a good way of displaying my movies stored on my NAS and at the same time present the media in a easy to access way. MrMC does a good job when it comes to my basic requirements. However handling of audio through my ATV via MrMC is not good at all and I expected that to be addressed in this release of MrMC (I know it is not mentioned in the release note, but I still expected it to be addressed).
I had no errors or any glitches installing this version and everything works smoothly - and the new skin is AWESOME!
But the audio sucks!
All my DD 5.1 files plays as stereo and DTS is not supported (plays as stereo). If I try to switch on Pass through I get static noise.
The up cumming version of Infuse handles DTS perfectly so it is possible to tweak the ATV to play DTS (I am testing on Infuse).
The bottom line is: Fix the playback to handle DD 5.1 and DTS - that is more important to me than adding new features.

anything that was not working in the previous version :) specifically in pvr, record area. That is if the pvr you are running suppports record operations.

All minor... I don't us any PVR functions but I was getting a nag dialog about my PVR services on the old version at the initial app start, and that now seems to be fixed.

Knowing that skins are a subjective thing, that new Si02 skin, while nicely brighter, is just too iOS-confusing and ugly to me. I'm hoping that other TVos skin (Pichenko?) is still under development. I sticking with Amber for now.

Keep up the good work!

I'm able to start a recording via the guide in NextPVR using the MrMC skin. I haven't tested other skins. One problem I've always had and continue to have is that if I'm watching a program currently recording MrMC doesn't see that the file is growing in length during playback. So it'll kick me out of the playback because it thinks it's reached the end of the file but the program is still recording. if I restart playback it then sees the new file length but restarts at the beginning.

I did read that thread, but that is ridiculous. Are you really suggesting that changing an European timezone to either US or Canadian would enable my ATV to play DD 5.1 and DTS without any problems. Not really :)

If you are in a European timezone, then those audio formats should play just fine. Need to see an MrMC.log with debug enabled. Passthrough will only play IF you are connected through an external receiver than can decode the passed-through compressed audio.
