Do 'many' people who would use a thing like Kodi for hard drive based media, still use DVD's/ DVD-Rips?
HiDef Blu-Ray and 4K have surely superseded them by now and mkv + mp4 containers can mimic the structure with chapters etc, if you like that sort of thing AFAIK. Personally my DVD's went to the skip many moons ago, couldn't stand them.
I have loads of DVDs that are either of films unavailable on HD formats like Blu-ray, or are of TV shows shot on SD video (or where only SD film transfers exist) that won't be released on Blu-ray.
I suppose I could rip them losslessly to mkv, and lose the menus, bonus material etc. but I don't see the point in spending time doing it for no real gain.
I have a mix of VIDEO_TS and .ISO - so both would be great, but if I had to chose, VIDEO_TS.
Any chance of video_ts support for playback streaming from a nas only without menus
I have been able to get the apple to playback the individual files but mrmc will not play all files for the movie
thanks

I also strongly request this capability. I have lots of dvds already ripped this way.
