there is no attempt to connect to emby service of any sort, manual or otherwise...
could you please sign out of emby, restart MrMC, try to log in to emby , go back to home screen and capture another log so we can see if emby returns an error of some sort

Done and pasted the Log file, only alteration I changed my server name to anonymous.org for obvious reasons

I also tried to connect to the server when I got home,. sniffing the LAN to identify the server, which worked fine, movies and TV series were all accessible via the application on the phone
Tried again to connect this morning, the only change is that when I click on the user button at the bottom left hand side, it doesn't show MrMC in a window in the center of the screen as a server option like yesterday, now it shows Master User on the left hand side of the screen, and on the right it asks me to select my MrMC user profile to login and continue (Power options showing as a button underneath the message). if I select Power Options it says Exit. If I select my MrMC user profile, it returns to the home screen.

My setup at home. I run Emby in a docker in an unraid server. All the files are on the same server. I can connect fine using the Emby Android client on the same phone, using the same port and https address.

are you port forwarding everything correctly, firewalls are allowing the connections? If I understood correctly, it works ok when you are on a home LAN but fails when you are away and using WAN?

MrMC fails on the WAN, the Emby client doesn't so I know ports forwarding is operational unless MrMC needs different ports open?

In the link for the Letsencrypt docker it says I need to forward external port 443 to the internal port 444, which is what I did, and the emby client works fine in terms of external connection when connecting to port 443 externally.

I am not sure what to suggest, I can try to reproduce the issue by setting everything up the same way you are doing it. Busy with other things so no promises on when this could happen
