make double sure that atv4's audio setting are defaults. maybe 16-bit. auto everything. Then reboot it. I've seen some reports that settings might not take effect except on reboot.

I've actually had to set my ATV audio settings to Dolby Surround in order for digital pass through to work properly. Auto didn't work.

I've tried all setting combinations, rebooting after each change. It made no difference. I still can't get DD or DTS sound from the receiver.

Receiver Denon 2200
Tried all configurations possible already.
There is nothing wrong with my Receiver, as I already have a Raspberry Pi 2 running KODI that plays DD & DTS flawlessly

I also have a denon receiver (3312) and have no problem with DTS or DD passthrough. My settings are auto and NOT 16bit.

TVOS 9.1 came out which made some changes to the handling of audio right around the time many are testing this new app. So, I wonder if that's what's causing the different experiences of users.

Same here... when activating Dolby Digital (AC3) or DTS receiver, i get noise... when only selecting passthrough, no problems
I use a Marantz SR7007

They stopped replying to the forum topic about the issue a few weeks ago.
I am guessing if they would have fixed it, they would have posted something in the forum. ( I've deleted the app and requested a refund for it, so I can't check.)
