That is the only setting for file delete, @CallClear was using it in MrMC just fine before with MySQL database

Sounds like you did not enable delete in MrMC settings, delete for plex items works all the time as there was a hole in a logic and enabled button permanently ... fixed for next TF/RC

The developers seem to see a qualitative difference between deleting shared library files from MrMC's Kodi client and deleting Plex server files from MrMC's Plex client. Not much concern about the former, but moderate consternation about the latter, even though the latter is under the direct control of whoever sets up the Plex server.

I'm not trying to make a point here; just trying to understand the reticence.
I don't understand the question. Historically, we (MrMC) have been very paranoid about any delete function. It was allowed where present in the existing codebase, but we did not allow it for new features like the native Plex/Emby clients. In the past weeks, users of Plex/Emby have convinced us to add delete to Plex/Emby. So delete was added for a single item. We are still paranoid :)

Tested again with 3.0.9. Everything works like a charm...both delete restrictions on MrMC side and Plex side work. And the delete message is very clear too. Thanks again!
