You can't add apps to the Apple TV 3.

It is possible. These must then be played up by Apple. How else do Netflix & Co. come to the devices? And soon also Amazon Prime Video.

Amazon Prime Video isn't going to the Apple TV 3, it's going to the Apple TV 4 via a downloadable app.

amazon striking a deal with apple is not the same as us submitting an app into app store, we can only distribute MrMC via App store and its only available on ATV4
