Thanks davilla for this amazing MrMC!
Works very good so far for me.
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back

Re: MrMC for TVOS Released
Just wanted to say nice work. Installed and was able to connect to my Mac Pro server with no problem using SMBup. As I assume SMBx is not supported yet.
I have been in the game awhile and have used many betas and first releases. So I know what to expect. And besides the few minor things I'm sure you already know about I would have to say I think this is great.

You can download the free version of infuse and try it. If you like it then upgrade to infuse Pro versionnormanfox wrote:First time I heard of Infuse. I just checked it out on youtube, and very impressed. compared to Kodi, can you give me some pro's and con's between the two. I wish apple have app trial so that I can try it out.nojzurc wrote:Remote control is lagging. I hope there will be support for changing skins in the next update.
For me, I think Infuse is still the best at this time. It's more fluid and straightforward. Remote is very responsive. UI is better, skin is simple but more apple-like.

Re: MrMC for TVOS Released
first of all... team MrMC, really great work for working on this app.
yesterday installed it and works great, good to see the interface again on an Apple TV.
One thing which I ran into is that for some reason not all of my movies are shown via 'favourites'. I have about 200 movies (mkv format) and I am able to see them when clicking on 'movies' in the startmenu, but when clicking on favourites I only see about 175 movies. Any idea why not all movies are shown in favourites? used NFS to my Synology. Also when changing fanart, not every movie changed to my new manually changed fanart (most of them did, but some not).
what would be great for a new release if remote would work more smooth just like the 'normal' interface of the Apple TV
but for now, I am really happy with MrMC on my Apple TV, keep up the good work
thanks for your reply

Re: MrMC for TVOS Released
I'm a long time user of Kodi, and the htpc it's running on (it's an old laptop) is slowly becoming unusable, so when I saw that a Kodi fork was released for the aTV4, I had to try it out.
And boy is this amazing. For me, everything is running smooth (I'm mainly streaming from a NAS using SMB), everything plays beautifully (including huge 1080p mkv-rips with dts), and I'm just so happy that I can now actually replace my old crappy, loud laptop with it's bulky IR dongle, with a tiny aTV.
Now, it seems like people are mostly complaining about the remote touchpad response. I'm using a harmony smart remote to controll everything, including the aTV, and navigating using the arrow buttons is flawless and totally without delay. Everything is just as good as when it run on the win10 PC.
My only wish would be for a more aTV4 compatible interface. I like uniformity and would just love it if looked more like Infuse, for example. That would make things just perfect. Not, switching between MrMC and other apps on the aTV feels a bit jarring.
Other than that, I'm blown away by this.

I have played a number of mkv videos without a single issue. Playback is buttery smooth. DTS HD is not supported yet in Kodi and going back to your Atv 4 home screen exits the app

Thanks to all Mrmc team.
I bought the app yesterday and Everything works well and smooth to me, except the remote.
For the future updates please improve the remote and give us the option to change skin.
Keep up the good work
