But do you have this issue with v2.0.0 ? Also, is your nextpvr server local or some place on the vast internet ?deanjo wrote:I'm trying to increase the buffer before resuming playback. I had this issue with an older version of Kodi where it would start playing for few seconds after buffering, then it would stop, then buffer up again before it gained a steady stream. I'm trying to eliminate the play, pause, play, behaviour.

Both local and remote NPVR setups (remote connection definitely not the issue either) exhibit the same issue. Everything running on a wired 1 GB ethernet connection. Latency is not an issue either, local < 1 ms, remote 5 ms with 1 Gbit up/down. Not a network saturation issue either. Also, is your nextpvr server local or some place on the vast internet ?
Found another issue as well. If you watch a local video file, the TV panel disappears and the only way to get it back is to reboot the appleTV as MrMC locks up.

mrmc.logs that show the buffering, with debug enabled.

Nice build with a lot of improvements. However to me the biggest issue has not been addressed!
Do something to fix the audio problem with at least Denon AVR's. The issues have been discussed numerous times and have still not been fixed.
I am testing Infuse 4.1 at the moment and even though the passthrough option is still not working (for me), the DD 5.1 and DTS modes are working as to be expected.
MrMC is basically unusable when only stereo output is done from all my movies in DD 5.1 and DTS.

I'd argue on the unusable partVagnPetersen wrote:Nice build with a lot of improvements. However to me the biggest issue has not been addressed!

As we have mentioned, 2015 Denons and passthrough are an issue with everyone. Not just us. Infuse 4.1 transcodes DD 5.1 and DTS into multichannel PCM and sends that, they still have a passthrough issue on 2015 Denons because the problem lies with those Denons and not tvOS or any App trying to do passthrough. Denon messed up and Denon will have to fix it.
The 2.x series gets us to a codebase that finally allows us to do some special things. Things that were not possible before. Getting there and stable is step 1. If we had teams of developers to work on code, maybe step 2 would be there now, but we don't have teams of developers. If our progress is not fast enough to suit your needs, use something. This might sound harsh but we do the best we can to provide a stable, forward thinking release that tried to address the 90 percent user base.
And FYI, I dropped $1k on a Denon 4300 to work on expanding audio codec support. Am I pissed about it, you bet I am.

Please don't misunderstand me - I really like MrMC and all the hard work you are doing. I just want to be able to play my movies with the best possible audiodavilla wrote:

The way Infuse offer audio playback may not be ideal, but it works on my setup. However your way of handling audio in the future may be a better solution - I am crossing my fingers and don't let go of my expectations for MrMC

Re: tvOS Testing 2.0.0 (160321.1637)
Came back and found that Apple have released TVOS update to my AppleTV 4.
(As had setting for auto update enabled)
Just noticed that I now have really bad AV sync issues with MrMC, and software just seems 'out of sorts' with odd buffering delays back, and pause, buffer, play behavior again, using MediaPortal PVR plugin.
Just a question to those users reporting PVR issues, such as with NextPVR.
Has your AppleTV 4 auto updated to latest Apple update?
Seemingly the latest Apple update has really messed up MrMC PVR performance for me.
Anyone else having AV Sync issues after latest Apple software update?

Re: tvOS Testing 2.0.0 (160321.1637)
Restored my AppleTV4 and reinstalled MrMC testflight build, and things seem to be working again.
One oddity, digital terrestrial channels that have stereo AAC audio seem to have playback issues, with stutters audio and AV sync issues on those channels only. During playback, if I access MrMC audio options from gui overlay, and select 'stereo upmix' to enabled, then those channels play fine, and no AV sync issues.
(I do have Passthru audio enabled, and feed to Sony AV Receiver via HDMI)
Wondering if the latest Apple software update has changed audio functions?.
I never changed anything before the Apple Software update, and it seemed to screw up my config.
Restoring my AppleTV has seemingly fixed things. Not sure I really had to perform full restore/upgrade, but oh well.

Re: tvOS Testing 2.0.0 (160321.1637)
Okay, after restoring my AppleTV 4 completely and reinstalling TestFlight build of MrMC, and watching TV last night. Things seem normal for me regarding PVR.
I have 2 AppleTV 4's, and had auto update disabled on 2nd one.
I decided to let the latest TVOS update be applied to it.
After the update, things went all screwy again as far as PVR is concerned, with loss of audio completely on some channels, Or stop stuttery playback, or really bad AV sync depending on what channel I was watching.
As an experiment, I installed MrMC 1.6 release build 'over' the TestFlight build as an upgrade from the App Store.
Upon testing the same channels that a couple of minutes before, we're giving issues. Under MrMC 1.6, were all working fine again.
I then installed the TestFlight build 'over' the release build as an upgrade.
I then tried viewing those same channels once more, and all the issues were back.
I suspect completely restoring the AppleTV 4, would resolve the issue, as it has on my other AppleTV 4 unit, but seems an extreme measure.
I think it highlights the fact that the latest TVOS update from Apple has affected current MrMC 2 build.
